 WALT know what different words mean (increase vocabulary) 

We had to write a sentence down and then we had to change the highlighted words. The word at the end of the sentence is the word that I think the highlighted word can be replaced with.

My Student Led Conference

A Moment In Time Writing

Opening sentence: I was walking along the beach when there was a loud noise like a gunshot.


(P1) When I look around I see a massive boulder. l look around and I see more of them, all stuck to each other. I see lots of tiny birds flying away as the boulders crash into the sand.

(P2) I can hear the super slow waves going in and out on the beach.All of the boulders are starting to crack, like it was fireworks nighf. As I walk on the sand I hear it crushing like rocks Banging!!! at a old brick  wall.  

(P3) As I walked  I started smelling a very minty candy cane smell from the massive boulders, it was like there was a world inside the boulders.My lunch smelt great, it was like a sub and  as the waves went in and out, I smelt the salty sea air.

(P4)As I'm walking on the beach I feel the really cold waves hit my feet like tin bottles. I  can feel sharp shells flying from the big boulders  and hitting me asIi walk closer. One of the boulders is spitting out sand, I feel the sand rushing in to my hair.

(P5)I can taste the hard and crunchy specks of sand in my mouth and as I am running  to the boulder,  I stop and take a big drink of a very cold bit of Fanta. The really hard bits of salt race into my mouth.


Closing sentence: There was a massive storm and the boulders disappeared into thin air.

The Light !!!


Once a upon a time there was a little girl named Lily. Lily had a dog named Storm. One day Lily took Storm for a walk. When they were on their walk they saw a light, it looked like a fire. Lily and Storm were SO scared that they ran back home. Lily talked to her Mum and Dad about it. They were all scared. Then they went outside and they saw the light. Lily stayed outside all night. She talked to her Mum and Dad, every hour it got closer.

The next day, Lily found a box on the door step, it said for Lily Clark and your family. She called her Mum and Dad. They came out and so did Storm. They opened the box, there were five puppies. Lily and her Mum and Dad named them Libby, Keira, Paige, Jess and Daphne. Storm was like their Mum.

Lily took them for a walk that afternoon. They saw the light. When they came home it was night time. Lily's Mum and Dad had to go out, Lily could stay home by herself because she was 15. Lily went to bed, she woke up at 1am. She went to go get breakfast when she saw a CLOWN. She ran upstairs. ALL of the puppies were gone.

She went back to sleep and in the morning told her Mum and Dad. They looked for hours and they could only find Libby and Paige's collar. Lily looked under the bed, she didn't see anything. She looked under the couch and found Libby, Paige and Storm. Storm saved Libby and Paige. Storm started barking. Lily looked behind her and saw the clown, she hid under the bed. The clown went away.

I’ve enjoyed learning all of the dance moves. My favourite dance was the hop hop routine.

I’ve been challenged by getting all of the actions right and in time.

I have surprised myself by having to hold hands with a boy, because I didn't want to at the start.

I learnt how to do the cha cha. It was hard to learn all of the moves.

I found it hard my first time doing the dance because I didn't know what to do.

I would now like to learn more dances.
